The public participation program for the Environmental Assessment (EA) is designed to enable Kansas City Aviation Department (KCAD) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to consult effectively with the general public, concerned interest groups, and public agencies about their views, concerns, and ideas regarding the scope and content of the EA and, ultimately, the adequacy of the EA environmental analyses. Public participation for the EA will be conducted in accordance with FAA Order 1050.1F and FAA Order 5050.4B. Materials presented at any public meetings will be posted on this website following the meetings.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n Scoping Information<\/strong><\/p>\n Scoping is an early and open process that solicits input from the public to determine the scope to be addressed in the EA. The scoping process is meant to focus the EA analysis on the most pertinent environmental resources.<\/p>\n The Kansas City Aviation Department (KCAD) and the FAA held a Public Scoping Open House to collect public comments on the scope, alternatives, and analysis to be included in the EA for the Proposed Solar Facility Project at Kansas City International Airport. The EA will study the environmental impacts of the proposed solar facility development. This was an opportunity for the public to provide input on what issues and information should be addressed in the EA.<\/p>\n December 2023 Public Meeting Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n A public scoping open house was held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the KCAD Administrative Office Building located at 601 Brasilia Ave, Kansas City, MO 64153.<\/p>\n The following items were made available at the Public Open House:<\/p>\n In addition to public scoping, KCAD and the FAA conducted an agency scoping meeting on December 7, 2023.
